Are all who think that they’re Buddhists, really Buddhists?

.

We can chant, meditate, bow
and make all the offerings we want,
but does that really make us a Buddhist?

When we look at the life of the Gautama
who would become Buddha
what could we see?

We could see a ruthless determination
to accomplish the path immediately!
Ruthless?

Yes, he let nothing stand between him and his goal
including:
• convenience,
• comfort and
• peer approval.

Gautama exercised the wisdom and courage
to notice whether his teacher’s instructions
were effective or not.
When they weren’t he moved on.

Do we have that courage,
do we have that zeal?

Or, are we glutted with the self satisfaction
that is more interested in the comfort of the:
• consistent,
• familiar or
• entertaining
then in truly accomplishing the path, NOW!

Come let us truly follow the example
of the Buddha who taught that full enlightenment
was possible in 7 years or 7 months or 7 weeks or yes,
even 7 days.

The Wednesday series of weekly webinars begins NEXT week.

May you and yours be
happy and healthy!

Om Mani Padme Hum,

.
