From Dilgo Khyentse's "The Heart Treasure of the Enlightened Ones,"
lets read from the Introduction on pg. 4-5 and
let's also read from the root text on page 177.
In this selection we can read Dilgo Khyentse's admonition:
"These two Bo-dhi-chit-tas -
the skillful means of compassion and
the wisdom of voidness -
should never be separated.
They are like a bird's two wings,
both of which are necessary for it to fly;
you can NOT achieve enlightenment through compassion alone,
NOR through the realization of voidness by itself."
From the Dalai Lama's "The Path to Enlightenment,"
lets read page 30-31 and
let's also read from the devotional text on page 189.
In today's selection we can read Buddha's caution:
"He who fears when there is NO cause to fear is a fool.
He who does NOT fear when there is a cause to fear is a fool.
Both fall from the way."
