Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #181
from your Buddhism expert
I have an inner hippie. Do you? Last night my inner
hippie drew me to watch Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient
truth", but I also have an inner Sci-Fi geek, and
pretty soon he was thinking about the ice age movie,
“The Day After Tomorrow.”
Did you see that movie? It was a lot of fun. While I
was recalling that film, my inner movie nerd
remembered what it’s star, Dennis Quad, said in a
recent interview.
Dennis explained that as a young actor he sought
meaning in beautiful woman and recreational drugs. Now
that he’s a bit longer in the tooth and grayer around
the temples he has found greater meaning in simply
striving to be a great dad.

Dennis Quad has found meaning in love, pure love, the
type of love that seeks nothing in return, but it’s
object’s happiness and well-being. And he’s in good
company, for Buddha also taught that the meaning of
life could be found in:
gathering the two collections
for the two reasons.
Huh? Exactly! This, my friend, distills down to the
two truths, or as I like to call them the two “L’s” of:
• Love and
• Letting-go.
Yes, many folks find a measure of fulfillment in the
rearing of the young. But what happens when they leave
the nest? What happens when they leave the cradle and
begin to walk? What happens when they leave the home and
go to school? What happens when they find mates and
start nuclear families of their own? Grandchildren!
But is that really the same? And couldn’t that cycle
repeat itself with the grandchildren progressively
leaving the cradle, then the home, then the nuclear
family?
We could experience so much separation and loss. How
can one find meaning in loving others, when those we
love feel they have outgrown the need for our love?
Ah… perhaps now we could also see the wisdom in the
second of Buddha’s two truths. Perhaps now we could
see the allure in the Buddhist art of Letting-go in
the most wonderful way!
A great way to increase our experience of love is to
regularly practice the Semi-verbal guided meditation
known as “Bringing Happiness into the Path of Love.”
It is found on the 32nd page of “Quick Path to Happy
Peace;” which you can download for FREE by
visiting http://www.lamajigme.com
A fringe benefit of these mental yogas is that you get
to experience the rapture known as the “heart bliss of
love.” And what could you do with those neat sensations?
Well you could use them to increase your experience of
the wisdom of Letting-go. How? How can we do this deal?
Simple! Just use the Silent guided meditation known as
the “Tantric Questions,“ which can be found on
pages 34-35 of the same text.
Yes, you can transform selfishness into love, love into
bliss, and bliss into wisdom. You too can not only
intellectually grasp the meaning of life but actually,
viscerally experience it on a gut level; simply by
practicing Buddha’s mental yogas that have been made
available for you in “Quick Path to Happy Peace.”

P.S. To really do this deal, to really “get” the
meditations of
“Quick Path to Happy Peace,” to really enhance our
experience of the bliss of love and the freedom of
letting-go it is of paramount importance that we
master the secrets of the Mani-mantra: “Om Ma-ni
Pad-me Hum.”
