From Dilgo Khyentse's
"The Heart Treasure of the Enlightened Ones,"
lets read from the Commentary on pg. 36-36 and
let's also read from the root text on page 203.
In today's selection from Dilgo Khyentse's commentary we can read:
"Recognizing the futility of ordinary occupations,
the Ka-dam-pa masters [teachers] used to say:
Base your mind on the Dhar-ma,"
base your Dhar-ma on a humble life,
bnase your humble life on the thought of death,
base your death on a lonely cave.
From the Dalai Lama's
"The Path to Enlightenment,"
lets read page 60-61 and
let's also read from the biography of
the 3rd Dalai Lama on page 206.
In today's selection the Dalai Lama explains:
"When reading dozens of scriptures
does NOT reduce our
attachemnt, aversion pride and so forth,
it is time to reconsider our methods for
bringing the teachings into our hearts and
understanding them as living experiences."

In today's selection from
"The Healing Power of Love and Letting-go"
we can read:
Impermanence is everywhere,
yet I still feel that things will last.
I stand at the gates of death,
yet still pretend I will live forever.
Bless me, and misguided beings like me,
that we may truly understand Impermanence."
