From Dilgo Khyentse's
"The Heart Treasure of the Enlightened Ones,"
lets read from the Commentary on pg. 50-51 and
let's also read from the root text on page 175.
In today's selection from Dilgo Khyentse's commentary we can read:
"But whatever circumstances you find yourself in,
you can purify you mind;
when in pain,
you can pray from the core of you heart
that your suffering may be a substitute
for the suffering of others,
so that all their pain and suffering
will be exhausted forever.
The more you suffer,
the more you can practice taking on
the sufferings of all beings."
From the Dalai Lama's
"The Path to Enlightenment,"
lets read page 74-75 and
let's also read from the biography of
the 3rd Dalai Lama on page 213.
In today's selection the 14th Dalai Lama explains:
"We erect elaborate altars
and make extensive pilgrimages,
but better than these
is to remember Buddha's teachings:
'Never create any negative action;
always create goodness;
aim all practices at cultivating the mind.'
When our practice increases
delusion, negative and disturbed states of mind,
we know that something is wrong."

In today's selection from
"The Healing Power of Love and Letting-go"
we can read:
"I have heard that there is NO independent or
change-less “self” to grasp,
yet still have gross concepts of
“me” and “mine.”
I have chosen to renounce duality but
am still buffeted by hopes and fears.
Bless “me”, and all who grasp at the myth of
a separate or permanent “me”, that
we may realize the natural state’s perception of
“my” NON-grasp-ability."
