The Power of Hedonism

.

Share

Why do we begin our Lam Rim,
{or outline of Buddha’s teachings}
entitled “Buddha’s Extensive Three Cauldrons,”
with the practices of Bliss?

Well, I’m not gonna say were hedonistic but
each of us has an inner Naughty Roman Emperor.

We all love pleasure.
Don’t judge yourself for it.
We are wired to be that way.

So, if we’re smart, we’ll
use our love of pleasure as an asset
{forgive the double entendre}
on the path of enlightenment.

We begin our study of the Lam Rim with pleasure so that
our experience of meditation is as
pleasurable and productive as possible.

There is a very ugly tradition {that I do NOT support} of
making things as difficult and arduous for
the student as possible, thus
drawing out the education period.

Folks that’s just silly.
Suffering sucks!

I want you to accomplish liberation from
it’s tyranny just as soon as possible.
So come, let us make meditation just as:
• fun,
• pleasurable and
• productive
as possible.

Listen, I’m a selfish bastard in as much as
I have a low threshold for YOUR pain.

So:
receive the teachings,
• practice the techniques,
• accomplish the path and
• transcend suffering…
you know, as a favor to me.

There is only one more week until the Friday-series of weekly webinars!

May you and yours be
happy and healthy!
