The Hidden Secret about Sorrow, Anger and Fear

.

Share

There is nothing really “WRONG” about
sorrow, anger or fear, as
long as they do NOT control

control

our :
• choices,
• words or
• actions.

Nope, they don’t feel very good.
But that doesn’t make them bad,
nor does it make us bad for experiencing them.

bad

Over the millennia countless theologies, and metaphysical treatise have
been composed in the vain efforts to
dispel these painful emotions.

painful

Yes, there are things we can do to minimize their effect in our lives.
We can go to bed early.
We can get 8 hours of sleep, daily.
We can eat a PURE diet.
We can avoid alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, sugar and sugar-substitutes.
We can effectively exercise in fresh air.

exercise

We can have loving relationships.
We can engage in employment that we find meaningful.
We can traverse the spiritual path.

exercise

All these things can serve to reduce some of their causes and
minimize the intensity of
#1 the presence of painful emotions, and
#2 their control over us.
But nothing can {therapeutically} rid us of their mere presence.

rid us of there presence

Now a high Bodhisattva
does NOT cower before uncomfortable emotions
the way some folks shreek before a mouse or a spider!

mouse

Rather, they put them to work, and use their energies to
increase their experience of Buddha’s four mental yogas of:
• Devotion,
• Awareness,
• Love and
• Letting-go!

Oh what worthless and even dangerous doctrines have…

dangerous

been concocted
in the name of trying NOT to feel
that which our nervous and endocrine systems were designed to feel.

Some people insist that Buddha taught that
we shouldn’t have ANY desires,
even though both the Sam-yut-ta Ni-ka-ya
and the Dig-ha Ni-ka-ya contain passages that teach otherwise.

pali Scriptures

Folks the key is NOT found in neither desiring nor expecting
but in merely freeing ourselves from their tyranny.

liberate

When we look at the life story of the Buddha,
we see that he endured so many sufferings even
AFTER he accomplished enlightenment.

enlightenment

But what made Buddha, the Buddha,
was NOT what he felt,
BUT what he did with what he felt.

enlightenment

Come let us master his yogas of mind so
that we may spiritually and joyfully surf reality,
spontaneously, habitually, easily and effectively!
