#1 – chant the “Extensive Prayer of Refuge and Bodhichitta”
{found on page 40 of the “ Beginning Collection of Practices ”}
while standing in the “Exultant Warrior” asana,
#2 – Play with this vinyasa three times.
Start in “Standing Mountain” pose,
squat down, and roll back into a shoulder stand,
and then roll forward and return to “Standing Mountain” Pose.
a) during the FIRST set, perform this silent contemplation
while holding the “Shoulder Stand” for three breaths:

“Why take away all of everyone’s boredom and it’s causes?”}

b) during the SECOND set, perform this silent contemplation
while holding the “Shoulder Stand” for three breaths:

c) during the third set, perform this silent contemplation
while holding the “Shoulder Stand” for three breaths:

“Noticing”

“Letting-go.”
#3 – Sit down and perform the
“Opening up and Clearing out” meditation
{found on page 96 of the “ Beginning Collection of Practices ”}
#4 – Perform the sequence of poses known as
“Untying the Heart’s Knots” with these modified contemplations:
a) When sitting with your arms locked behind you
gently twist to the left while
performing this silent contemplation for three breaths:

OUT-breath
“Chen-re-zig.”
When twisting to the right
perform this silent contemplation for three breaths:
IN-breath:
“Take boredom!”
OUT-breath
“Chen-re-zig.”
b) When sitting and bending to the left side
with your arms locked over head
perform this silent contemplation for three breaths:
IN-breath:
Why take bored?
OUT-breath
“Chen-re-zig.”
When bending to the right
perform this contemplation for three breaths:
IN-breath:
“Take boredom!”
OUT-breath
“Chen-re-zig.”
c) When sitting in lion’s pose
bend foreword from the hips into child’s pose
and perform this silent contemplation for three breaths:
IN-breath:
“Chen-re-zig”
OUT-breath
“Let bored go”
d) When returning to lion’s pose
with arms locked behind you gaze up into the heavens while
performing this silent contemplation for three breaths:
IN-breath:
“Noticing”
OUT-breath
“Letting-go”
e) After releasing the arms
form the “prayer gesture”
with your hands about 18 inches in front of your chest
so that your elbows describe a 135 degree angle.
When you gently twist to the left side
perform this silent contemplation for three breaths:
IN-breath:
Why take bored?
OUT-breath
“Chen-re-zig.”
When twisting to the right
perform this silent contemplation for three more breaths:
IN-breath:
“Take boredom!”
OUT-breath
“Chen-re-zig.”
f) Releasing the arms from the “prayer gesture”
come to your hands and knees and perform the “cat cow” pose
with an open mouth
while performing this silent contemplation for three breaths:
IN-breath:
“Chen-re-zig”
OUT-breath
“Let bored go”
g) Return to the “Standing Mountain” pose
lock your hands behind your back
and gaze up, into the heavens
while performing this silent contemplation for three breaths:
IN-breath:
“Noticing”
OUT-breath
“Letting-go”
There is not a single:
• circumstantial,
• social,
• physical,
• emotional or
• mental suffering
that can NOT be brought into Buddha’s path of love and letting go.
