Do Your Homework!

What does it take to become my student?
Desire!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmBij5GkF-s

Desire to tame your:
• anger,
• fear and
• sorrow

as well as a longing to multiply your:
• love,
• peace,
• joy,
• wisdom and
• freedom.

You don’t have to believe in me,
in fact, I’d advise against it.
As I explained during Saturday morning’s class,
faith and fear are two sides of the same coin.

coin

Do NOT make the mistake of waiting until you trust the teachings
before you practice them.
Remember, Buddha taught that the ONLY indicators of
either the teacher's or teaching's validity are
the results you receive from practicing the instructions.

results

During the first lesson of every series of weekly webinars,
you’ll be given a homework assignment that could take less then
3 minuets to complete.
But the class will have been wasted on you if
you refuse to take the action steps.

You are ONLY my students when you apply my instructions.
My instructions to you are:
a - attend your webinar class every week
b - read 1-2 of my blogs every day and
c - do your homework twice a day every day.

The Teachings of the Buddha

According to Buddha’s " Sutta of the Kalama's Dilemma "
neither logic nor emotion are a valid indicator of
which teacher or teaching to rely upon.

If one won't follow Buddha’s advice,
and is so very arrogant as to honestly feel that
they know better then the Buddha and
will not even give his teachings the benefit of the doubt by...

at least trying them out,
then really who is “worthy” enough to be their teacher?

Buddha

A character in one of Christ’s parables excused his inaction by
explaining that he was scared.
According to the “Prince of Peace” that excuse did NOT fly!

not fly

One the other hand in the Hebrew scriptures it is written:

“Come and taste that the Lord is Good”

finger licking good

It was NOT written,
“Hey, first believe then you’ll see.”

Even contemporary self-help gurus such as Tony Robbins teach a
master plan of success wherein the practitioner:

• FIRST decides what they desire,
• SECONDLY takes action,
• THIRDLY notices what results their actions create,
• FOURTHLY evaluates whether the results are desirable or not and then
• FINALLY, based on that, decides what action to take next.

A cowardly fraud will demand that his students believe in him whereas
a real saint will insist that folks test his teachings
NOT with the “greasy kid’s stuff” of logic or intuition BUT...

greasy kid stuff

rather in the laboratory of their own lives.

May our yearning for greater freedom from the tyranny of:
• anger,
• fear and
• sadness
be great enough to get us to actually get off our over-fed asses and
take meaningful action!

There is room for only 2 dozen more students in May's Monday-night series of weekly webinars.
You could register today .

May you and yours be
happy and healthy!
