Friday's Recommended Reading

.
From Dilgo Khyentse's
"
The Heart Treasure of the Enlightened Ones,"
lets read from the Commentary on pg. 62-63 and
let's also read from the root text on page 183.

In today's selection from Dilgo Khyentse's commentary we can read:

"Through faith and devotion
in the Three Jewels,
we will come to realize that they are NOT
three separate entities,

but the body, speech and mind of
Chen-re-zig, the Buddha of Compassion.

His mind is the Buddha,
his speech the Dhar-ma, and
his body is the Sang-ha.

Even though at present we
can NOT meet Chen-re-zig in person,
we should be aware of his limitless qualities
as they are described in the sutras and tantras.

We should also remember that
Chen-re-zig is inseparable
from our teacher,
who instructs us in the precious Dhar-ma.

Deeply appreciating this great kindness,
praying to him and
reciting the Six-syllable mantra,
there is NO doubt that all our

karmic obscurations and negative emotions
can be cleared away.

The time will come when we will
actually be in the presence of
Chen-re-gig in his Buddhafield [pure land],
where he turns the wheel of

the Ma-ha-ya-na Dhar-ma
for his retinue of Bo-dhi-sat-tvas."

From the Dalai Lama's
"
The Path to Enlightenment,"
lets read page 84-85 and
let's also read from the biography of
the 3rd Dalai Lama on page 218.

In today's selection the 14th Dalai Lama explains:

"Compassion that does NOT understand
the nature of Sam-sa-ric existence is
a healf-hearted compassion."

The easiest way to contact me is at:

In today's exploration of
the " Beginning Collection of Practices "
we could consider:

Affirmations simply don't work.
You could recite, "I am very peaceful."
all you want
but it won't really change how you feel.

Now, a properly worded, assumptive question,
is a horse of another color.

By way of example,
let's play with these Power-questions.

"What are some of the reasons
I Could feel peaceful?"

"What could be some of the benefits
of feeling peaceful?"

"If I was now profoundly peaceful;
what could that feel like?"

"If I was now profoundly peaceful;
what could that sound like?"

"If I was now profoundly peaceful;
what could that look like?"

Yep, that is exactly why
it has been said that sometimes,
"Questions are the Answer."

And that, my friend, is why the second "I"
is "Inquisition."

I invite you to share your feelings and insights with
my other students at:

How Rude!

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #194
from your Buddhism expert

I carefully stepped off the Bus.

My cloth shopping bags, bulging with fresh produce,
subtly swung from the straps from which they hung on
my shoulders. In my left hand I held Sunday’s
Intermediate Sadhana {or practice text} open
to the skies. I was wearing the robes of a Tibetan
monk and my head was shorn in the style of the Dalai
Lama. In my right hand I counted beads on my mala
{or Buddhist rosary} while I softly recited

Om Mani Padme Hum
as I slowly walked home. It
was apparent to all that this Buddhist monk,

was meditating.

“Aren’t you hot?”

a young lady demanded. She expected me to:
• stop walking,
• stop the important task of meditating,
• and engage her in pointless conversation,
upon a frivolous topic that was not at all
pertinent to her real spiritual or emotional needs.

Rather than do her the disservice of indulging her
manipulative and controlling tendencies I gently
smiled and silently lifted my right index finger to
my pursed lips in a pantomime of the “Shhh” gesture,

as I turned in her general direction while keeping
my eyes lowered to the ground in meditative drishti
{or gaze}.

As the spark of rage was kindled in her heart, she

spat the words,

“How Rude!”

Suddenly the hot, heavy desert air was pierced by
the siren of an ambulance approaching to tend a
fallen transient.

“Ooh, let's go and watch.”

she commanded her companion. And they turned and
swiftly walked away.

It is always a mistake to confuse a genuine need with
the mere urgency of impulse; especially the impulse
of trivial curiosity. When did the culture of
paparazzi and “reality T.V.”

convince us, as a people, that our lust for
inconsequential details gave us license to
disrespectfully pry into the lives of others in
the name of mindless recreation? How have we come
to believe that others live solely to entertain us?
Why do so many feel that the urgings of an
“inquiring mind” out weigh the need for courtesy
and consideration?

Who was this clearly anti-social and obviously,
oddly-dressed fellow who dared to defy her demand?

Her teacher.

And he’s yours as well. If she did not learn her
lesson, then perhaps you did.

Come, let us live lives marked by centeredness,
peace, balance, subtle joy and spontaneous love. No,
not the frenzied love of a little puppy dog,
convinced that he must lick the face of all he
encounters;

but the calm enlightened love of a Bodhisattva who
earnestly yet peacefully longs to take away the
suffering of every being, in the most wonderful
way. Sounds great, but how, how can we surmount
this task?

Simple! You could begin by implementing Buddha’s lost
teachings of Breathing Meditation. I’ll reveal these
secrets to everyone who acquires this month’s
instructional CD, the “Centering Questions.” How could
just 5 minuets, twice daily, change your life? Find out
by getting your hands on this CD. But hurry, there
are only two more days to take advantage of
April’s discount. So order your copy today

The Myth of Attachment

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #193
from your Buddhism expert

“Seek and Destroy” is a kick ass song by Metallica.

It’s also a hair brained attitude that many would-be
Buddhists embrace. It comes from confusion and it
leads to frustration.

Mistake #1: Over simplification. Of course Buddha
taught that grasping leads to suffering, but is that
all he taught? In 84,000 discourses given over 40
years is that all Buddha taught? Of course not,
only a moron would insist on that. And it is equally
moronic to practice as if that was all he ever taught.

Mistake #2: Judeo-Christian baggage.

Many folks are happy to be Jews, Christians or
Muslims. And I say, “God Bless ‘em.” And if someone
who was born into a Judeo-Christian family or
culture wishes to later practice the Buddha’s
teachings that’s fine as well. BUT to drag one’s
Judeo-Christian views and practices into Buddhism
and simply give them Dharma-sounding labels is a
colossal error. Buddha warned us to relinquish our
grasp upon our preconceptions not to merely rename
them.

Mistake #3: Pointing the finger at Attachment. About a
decade ago Dana Carvey’s “Church Lady” skits were vary
popular on “Saturday Night Live.” She was renowned for
rhetorically asking,

“…could that be Satan?”

Likewise lot’s of idiotic, Buddhist wannabes can be
found running about, asking, “…could that be
Attachment?”

How dualistic could it be to jump about tossing
labels on things? Rather than going through life
saying, “I’m attached to that, nope I’m not attached
to this, but yes I’m attached to that…” wouldn’t it
be easier to simply practice Buddha’s mental yogas
of:
• simple Awareness and
• Letting-go?

It’s easy. We simply allow our consciousness to be
aware of whatever circumstance, sensation, thought
or phenomena spontaneously manifests in our sphere
of perception and then gently let go of it.

Mistake #4: confusing pushing away with letting go.
Guys, we do not have to cut our selves off from our
children, spouses, jobs or homes; that’s just goofy.
Rather, we can learn to live with them and love them
in a relaxed and groovy manner.

Mistake #5: debating attachment. When we were Jews,
Christians or Muslims and someone pointed their
finger at us while screaming “Sinner!” of course we
felt defensive. Likewise when a well meaning idiot
points to the joys in our lives and screams
“Attachments!” we can feel that same defensiveness
again.

Don’t debate whether the things in your life are
attachments or not. Don’t debate the inherent
evilness or virtue of attachment.

Don’t play their foolish games. Don’t get down in
the mud and wallow about with the pigs; it looks
silly and will ruin your suit.

Rather, choose to let go of everything that enters
your sphere of awareness. That’s right, I’m telling
you to be an equal opportunity contemplative, don’t
discriminate.

When pain creeps into your body – let go of it.
When bliss blossoms in your heart – let go of it.
When annoyance tugs at you – let go of it.
When love fills you – let go of it. But how?

A great, easy, fun and practical introduction to
Buddha’s science of awareness and letting go can be
found in the instructional CD that reveals the
secrets of the Centering Questions. I’ll teach you
a simple 5 minuet
exercise. When you apply it once every morning and
once every evening, it will create momentum, which
will increase your awareness, which will increase
your ability to let go which will increase your
peace. There are only 5 more days to take advantage
of this month’s special discount. So order yours now. And remember the proceeds are integral to the
founding of San Diego’s first “Buddha of Compassion
Monastery and Meditation Center.”

The Pseudo-intellectual Side-step

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #193
from your Buddhism expert

Hey kids, there’s a new dance step. It’s called the
Pseudo-intellectual Side-step and with it you can
avoid doing anything you fear or find distasteful,
while appearing wise, sincere and spiritual, to
the truly dim-witted.

Of course this begs the question, “Hey, what more
important to you: what you are or what you appear
to be?” If you are more concerned with the opinion
of the slack-jaw, gap-toothed, mouth-breathing,
knuckle-dragers that we call the mass of humanity,
then the Pseudo-intellectual Side-step could be
for you.

But how do you perform this tragic time-waster?
Easy! FIRST: identify what it is that you don’t
want to do. For instance, some folks dread the
thought of abandoning their attachments. They
sincerely feel that it would involve far too much
effort, pain, fear and loss.

SECOND: figure out how you wish to be perceived.
Many feel it is more important to be perceived as
wise, sincere and enthusiastic {yet careful} than
to actually possess those qualities.

THIRD: contrive a rouse to convince others {and
perhaps even yourself
} that you possess those
attributes, without taking any spiritually
productive action. Hey, what you could do is go to
a Buddhist chat room and ask questions that could
make you sound wise, sincere and enthusiastic {yet
careful
} but that in reality fail to call you
{or anyone else} to the specific action required
to actually apply Buddha’s teachings.

FOURTH: wallow in the respect of the fools who’s
opinion you so value.

Or you could hit the Breaks and reevaluate the cost
of dealing with attachment, the Buddha’s way. Does
it really have to create fear, drudgery, pain and
loss? We’ll explore that tomorrow.

Oops, with only 6 days left to order your copy
of my CD revealing the secrets of the “Centering
Questions
” at it’s reduced price, I guess I should
remind you that you’ll learn:

• why affirmations can NOT work

• how properly worded questions could do the
job quite nicely

• and the folly of striving to force our
dynamically creative mind to stay still.

One of the beautiful things about this CD is that
simply following it’s easy instructions will
increase your meditation skills, so you'll
experience more peace, so you'll have greater
joy. What are some of the ways that increasing
your peace could improve your life? Find out for
yourself by reserving your discounted copy of
the Centering Questions

Petty One-ups-manship

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #192
from your Buddhism expert

George has a problem with petty one-ups-manship.
He characteristically and habitually dis-empowers
others in an effort to enhance his self esteem.
Perhaps an example could help.

George’s friend, John, is in a difficult
relationship. The other night John had an epiphany
about his partner, Marsha. It increased both his
insight into her character as well as his compassion
for her dilemma.

When John tried to share this good
news with his friend, George, it did not work out
very well. In a fit of petty one-ups-manship George
could not help but verbally cut-off John and exclaim “I could have
told you that a year ago!”

Why would George rudely cut his friend off?
Because he is allowing himself to be a slave to his
impulses.

Why didn’t George congratulate John on his insight?
Because George loves himself far more then his
friend. And making himself feel good seemed much
more important to George, than making his friend
feel good.

Why didn’t George empathetically contemplate how
Marsha must be suffering? Why didn’t he
compassionately consider what he and John could do
on Marsha’s behalf? Because he was far more
interested in increasing his sense of
self-importance than he was in diminishing Marsha’s
suffering or increasing her happiness.

Why?

Why has George drifted so far from the shores of
love and compassion? “Why” does not matter. The
fact that he has low self-esteem and chronically as
well as bombastically seeks to over compensate by
diminishing others and lauding himself is not the
issue. What is the issue? Or, even more importantly,
what is the solution?

Simple! The solution is found {the solution is
always found
} through the cunning use of
Buddha’s mental yogas of:
• Love and
• Letting-go!

Trying to fill the bottomless pit of chronically
low self esteem is like trying to fill the Grand
Canyon one thimble at a time. What could work
better then that?

Simple, on one hand we can choose to channel our
neurotic energy into lovingly meeting the needs of
others. And one the other hand, when we experience
the feelings of low self-esteem, and it’s foolish
impulses, we can bring them into the path of
Letting-go, by using Buddha’s mental yogas
{or techniques}.

But couldn’t that require a vast reservoir of
awareness and strength? Yes, it could. How? How
could we do that? What are some of the things we
could do to increase our awareness and strength?

My friend, the answer could be even easier then you
imagine. You do not have to shave your head, change
your name or wear funny clothes. Nope, the answer
could be much simpler than that.

Just 5 minuets of highly effective, profoundly
centering, and deeply peaceful meditation, twice
daily, could really go a long ways to building your
stores of strength and awareness.

Lama Jigme Gyatso

before? Have you ever experienced:
• boredom,
• frustration or
• anemic results?

Buddha’s lost methods of Breathing Meditation. I’ll

process. In just a few days you could be

Forgiveness and Folly

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #190
from your Buddhism expert

When approached by the haggard homeless and told of
their hunger, is it malicious or just stupid to
merely tell them to eat?

A hungry man does not need to be told to eat, he
needs to be fed. Likewise when another takes us
into their confidence and tells us of their anger
and resentment towards another, they do not need us
to foolishly mouth encouragements to forgive or self
righteously warn them of the social, physical,
medical, psychological, emotional or spiritual
dangers of anger. No, what they require is not to
be told TO forgive, but to be told HOW to forgive.

Any dolt can preach on the need to forgive, but only
a true master can take us by the hand, and lead us,
step by step, through the process of forgiveness.
Not so that we compound our rage with guilt and self
loathing, but so that we can actually feel our anger
fade away; just as a drop of dew is melted by the hot,
August sun.

The next time you feel a current anger or an old
resentment, turn to page 12-13 of “Quick Path to
Happy Peace
” bring Liberation from rage into the
Path of Concentration so you can explore even the
possibility of letting go.

Then turn to page 14-15 and bring Liberation from
rage into the Path of Insight so that you can
actually set space to exercise the wisdom of
letting go.

Now, turn to page 16-17 and bring Liberation from
rage into the Path of Compassion so that the power
of love for others who also suffer from the ravages
of resentment, can fuel the Sutric Questions coup
de gras upon the foe of rage, on pages 18-19.

My friend, I present to you Buddha’s lost spiritual
system to transcend any and every suffering. All you
have to do is learn it and practice it.

One of my intermediate students is going through a
really stressful health challenge. Let me tell you
why I'm so very proud of her.

When her fears wake her, in the middle of the night,
instead of binge eating or crying herself to sleep
she bravely gets out of bed, pads over to her
meditation cushion, opens up her copy of “Quick Path
to Happy Peace
” and practices the instructions that
she has received. She practices what she was taught,
she feels better, she goes back to bed, and she
quickly falls back asleep. These teachings work, but
only if you practice the instructions that you have
received.

This month I am offering you the opportunity to learn
instructions to the “Centering Questions”, for a
substantial discount. This discount is only available
for 11 more days. So if you’ve ever experienced
frustration, boredom, or reluctance upon the path of
meditation, now is the chance to do something about
it, before the promotion is over, and the discount
is gone

Puppy Love

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #189
from your Buddhism expert

Today I came across a delightful comic
illustrating the simple, yet profound, devotion that
many dogs feel for their owners.

I was a particularly sickly child. I remember having
a devastating bout of something when I was in Junior
High. Isn’t funny how profoundly emotional we can
get when we’re ill? Even now, I remember being
astonished at how irrationally sentimental I felt at
that time.

How do we know when we are being “way” over emotional?
Let’s face it folks, when even a Campbell’s Soup
commercial, can drive you to tears… then it could be
safe to assume, that something is afoot!

Mom, Dad and Sister had left to go somewhere they
felt was important and so I was left to sit in bed,
and watch “The Wizard of Oz”; which of course, you
guessed it, was driving me to tears. But I really
wasn’t alone. My little dog “Bernie” was sitting
vigil with me.

So what! This was a dog, not a doctor. This was not
a shaman, come to lay hands upon me, it was merely
a barking mop that we called Bernie. But you know
what, when that sweet little dog:
• slowly walked into my room,
• jumped on my bed,
• sat beside me,
• stretched it’s front legs across mine,
• and rested her chin upon my legs,
• while sweetly gazing up at me;
I truly felt a little better.

Gaze long and hard upon the face of your cat or dog.
There is NOT a lot of forehead there, my friend.
And you know what that means; there’s not a lot of
cerebral cortex there either. Obviously devotion;
spontaneous, heart felt devotion does not require
a great deal of brain power!

The ability to feel devotion comes, factory installed,
in every brain stem.

Devotion effects our emotions, awareness, bodies,
auras and environment. And, according to the
teachings of Buddhist Tantra, devotion can be a
short cut to experiencing great bliss. That is why
the two mental yogas “Essential Devotion” and
Essential Meditation” can be found on page 3 of
Quick Path to Happy Peace.”

Chris' Testimonial

.

Chris recently wrote this testimonial…

Dear Lama Jigme,

I love your CDs! I haven’t come across anything that
has helped me on my spiritual path as much as your
teachings have. Finally, I have found teaching that
are relevant to me and easy to understand. It has
been a blessing receiving your teachings on CD. At
this point in my life I cannot afford the telephone
sessions. I just want you to know that your are
doing an amazing thing.

Your e-mails are great. Humor with serious spiritual
insight; it’s a perfect mixture! It would be great to
join a 5 day retreat. I live in northern California,
so maybe I’ll be able to make it down for one.

Your teachings have made my job easier. Well
not the job itself, but how to deal with it. I am a
direct support professional who works in a supportive
living home for three adults with mental
disabilities. They are all combative. Which makes my
life very difficult on certain days. In the middle of
aggressive behaviors I take deep breaths and look
through the eyes of compassion. I try to relieve
their suffering as fast as I can so I can relieve
mine! It’s nice how my job is a way of practicing
your teachings… it was hard at first not to take the
aggressive behaviors personally but now it beads off,
like water on plastic.

Thank you for your help with human kind. You
are a great benefit to many! Blessings.

Sincerely,
Chris

Chris, thank you for your kind words. And dear
reader, thank you for your continued interest in
the happiness and self-improvement available to
you on Buddha’s path.

This month I’m facilitating your continued progress on
this journey by making the instructional audio CD
Centering Questions” available for a substantial discount.

Finally, you have the opportunity to free yourself
from the:
• frustration,
• difficulty and
• boredom
that is normally associated with the “art” of
meditation. And instead you could relish the freedom,
peace and joy Buddha has always intended for you.
Don’t just sit there, reserve your copy now!

Use It

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #186
from your Buddhism expert

Could you recall rejoicing at the very sight of
nature? When I glimpsed the sky, this morning, on
the way to the laundry room, the sight of the sky
beautifully lit by the sun’s fiery orb, that had
yet to appear at the horizon, put a smile on my lips
and joy in my heart.

Could you have ever had a brainstorm that filled you
with the enthusiasm of creative energy? While loading
the washing machine today, communication strategies
to prevent energetic vampirism just seemed to come
to me. It was as fun as it was exciting.

Could you remember ever feeling like a million bucks?
No, I don’t mean green and wrinkled! What I meant to
ask is: Have you ever felt a song in your heart? This
morning I felt the urge to sing and dance to the
Beastie Boy’s “Three MCs and One DJ.”

If you’ve been reading these daily tips for any time
at all you could recall that I frequently teach that
neither sorrow, fear nor anger are foes that need to
be crushed, as much as energy that needs to be
harnessed. Like wise, joy too, is an energy to be
harnessed.

But shrewdly harnessing the energy of joy really isn’t
our knee-jerk reaction, is it? Sadly, each of us
instinctively tends to squander that energy through movement, speech or thought.

There is nothing wrong with dancing about, in fact one
of my teachers was quite a big fan of it. However it
can also be good to use that physical energy to help
your partner around the house of even bow to the
Buddha of Compassion, AKA:
• Avalokiteshvara,
• Kuan Yin or
• Chenrezig,
which can really generate a whole bunch of good karma.

This of course brings us to the “motor mouth”
syndrome. When some folks feel great joy they aren’t
sure what to do with themselves. They feel as if they
could burst into a million pieces, so they start
talking AT another, non-stop, until the feelings of
overwhelming joy abate. It is as if they have drunk
too much and are now vomiting. But instead of
purging the contents of their belly into a toilet,
they are vomiting their words upon another.

My friend, have you ever had someone talk AT you for
5, 10 or even 15 minuets straight? It’s exhausting
isn’t it. Whether someone is vomiting their joy or
their sorrow upon you, it is still no fun to be
treated like a human toilet, is it?

If you’re reading these essays with any regularity you
probably possess some spiritual ambition. You most
likely would rather be a great Bodhisattva than a
destructive energy vampire. So then how can we harness
the great energy of joy?

Easy! Make use of the contemplative exercise
Essential Giving.” It can be found on the 25th page
of “Quick Path to Happy Peace;” which is available
for FREE download to all who visit
http://www.lamajigme.com

Yes, you can use this mental yoga to,

“…give great joy and it’s causes to all;”

empowered, of course, by the Six-syllable mantra:
Om Mani Padme Hum. If you have yet to master the
secrets of this mantra then order your copy of the
“Mastering the Mani” audio CD at
http://www.lamajigme.com/Mastering-The-Mani.html

After six or so repetitions of “Essential Giving” I
urge you to then let go by practicing the concise
mental yoga of the “Essential Meditation;” which is
found on page 10 of the same text. After the proper
training, these two techniques could provide you with
the frame work to tread Buddha’s path of Love and
Letting-go.

Of course this type of mental training is only helped
by blissfully centering yourself, twice daily with the
Centering Questions.”

P.S. Registration to receive this month’s audio CD
explaining the “Centering Questions” is picking up
more and more steam each day. It’s awesome to be part
of this group evolution. I feel sorry for the people
who’ve told themselves they can’t order it. There’s
nothing stopping YOU but YOU – and if YOU really want
to receive a copy – you will find a way to make it
happen. 'Tis how the Universe works. Go to
http://www.lamajigme.com/Centering-Questions.html
and make it happen.

Midnight Madness

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #185
from your Buddhism expert

I love cats. Many years ago, when I was living in a
tiny little trailer, I was given a playful, black
and white kitty named “Sneakers.”

Quiet, yet affectionate, Sneakers was a perfect
roommate for a contemplative… until it got late,
however. Once I was asleep a silent alarm seemed to
go off in kitty’s head that told her it NOW was the
time for wind sprints, which is especially
challenging in a tiny trailer. That is why I
nicknamed her sessions “Midnight Madness.”

Of course “Sneaker’s” wind sprints served merely as
a warm-up for every evening’s main event: a round of
her favorite game, we’ll call

“Chase me, chase me;
good, now I’ll chase you!”

How did kitty attempt to rouse the sleeping yogi in
an effort to enlist him in her feline cardio? Through
the cunning stratagem of running across my chest,
followed by running across my tummy. If I had the
audacity to grunt, roll over and try to go back to
sleep she would be forced to use her ultimate weapon…
running across my head!

Needless to say, “Sneakers” behavior was not ruled
by her daily schedule or by a list of shoulds. Nope,
kitty was the epitome of spontaneity. Contemplatives
should follow her lead.

It is just no fun to have the joy sucked out of one’s
twice-daily meditation practice by being ridged and
inflexible. An effective meditation strategy meets
the needs of the moment, rather than squelching them
in the name of order.

No, the impulse for fun and spontaneity does not have
to be a distraction from or a detriment to spiritual
practice. Spontaneity can clue us in to the most
important need of the moment, so that we can choose
the spiritual exercise that can meet that need in
the most wonderful way.

That is one of the reasons “Quick Path to Happy Peace”, that you can down load for FREE from http://www.lamajigme.com
contains:
• sixteen prayers,
• nine semi-verbal contemplations,
• three silent meditations and
• four mini meditations.

Early yesterday evening, my sore throat was telling
me that it was NOT the time for prayers or semi-
verbal contemplations. So, I used two of the silent
meditations.

Although I spent the majority of the time playing
with the “Sutric Questions” I mentally warmed up
with the “Centering Questions” that are found on
pages 4 and 5 of “Quick Path to Happy Peace.”
The insight of the “Sutric Questions” is like a
vault door that can only be unlocked with the key that
is provided by the “Centering Questions.”

P.S. I’ll be showing how to program
the “awareness” into your mind and body, even while
you sit in a centering way. You’ll be in awe when you
see how quickly this changes your emotional state for
the entire day. A quick 5-minute session when you feel
blah can turn into 24-hours of uninterrupted bliss.
Want to know more. Then go to
http://www.lamajigme.com/Centering-Questions.html and reserve your discounted copy, before they run out.

Diana's Death

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #182
from your Buddhism expert

Today I read that Coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker
ruled that Princess Diana was unlawfully killed.
Well that’s a big, fat “No duh!”

Princess Diana, her boyfriend, and their driver felt
obliged to recklessly flee a pack of aggressive
paparazzi… and who wouldn’t?

Ideally our energy should be centered, like the
pendulum of a grandfather clock, at rest. But that
isn’t often the case, is it?

Have you ever encountered someone who’s energy was
tilting too far forward, and who physically leaned
too far forward as if they were a predator ready to
attack? Could you imagine what that could look like
or even feel like?

There is something profoundly predatory, ruthless,
selfish and utterly UN-concerned about the
happiness and wellbeing of others in the behavior of
many paparazzi. What could have been some of the
times in your life that you could have encountered
similarly aggressive and disrespectful individuals.
The knee-jerk reaction to such foolishness can be
faster than thought and quicker reason.

There is an instinctive reaction to that type of
“forward” tilting energy. What is it? To draw back,
to pull back, step back and even seek to flee, as if
our energy was now tilting “backward.”

Could that have been the mechanism behind the flight
of Princess Diana, her sweet heart, and their driver?

I don’t want to live a life of perpetual reaction,
how about you? I don’t want to lead an existence
where I am constantly at the mercy of my brainstem’s
fight or flight instincts, how about you? That is why
this month’s special
instructional CD will take you by the hand and
teach you:
• easy,
• quick and
• fool-proof
methods to ensure you’ll rapidly master the secrets
of breathing meditation in a manner that will
multiply your sense of calmness and consequential
resourcefulness.
