Who are We?

.
There are many religions that teach:

“If you feel bad emotions
Then you’re bad!”

What an absolutely fabulous way to generate
massive amounts of neurosis!
What an efficient way to get folks to lie
to themselves and others about what they feel.

Yeah, let’s forget that noise!

Hey, wouldn’t it be cool if who we were was
NOT determined by what we feel,
BUT rather,
by what we DO with what we feel?

You see the old paradigm taught folks
to quibble over subtle terminology.
For instance one might say,

“I was enraged,
oops did I say rage,
what I really mean is angry,
and by angry I meant grumpy

and by that I mean merely miffed,
oh did I say miffed,
no, what I really meant was that
I loved every minuet of it.”

Yeah, that smells like something that came out
of the north end, of a south-bound steer!

You see, if who we were was NOT determined
by what we felt,
BUT by what we did with what we felt,
then there would be absolutely no need
to tone-down our terminology!

Remember in elementary school,
when they taught us that all the colors of the spectrum
come from various combinations
of the three primary colors of blue, red and yellow?

Well couldn’t it be convenient
if all negative emotions were just a blend of
sorrow, anger and fear?

Couldn’t that simplify everything
if instead of spending our energy
justifying, minimizing or rationalizing our painful emotions
we could invest that same energy into…

exploiting those painful emotions
to actually increase our joy, compassion and peace?

Their are only 2 weeks until the start of the Wednesday series of webinars.

May you and yours be
happy and healthy!

Beware of Why!

.

Beware of Why!

Beware of the word, “Why.”
For it can be the key that
unlocks the door to story.

Whether it’s the past’s history or
the future’s fantasy,
there is a price we have to pay for
the folly of going into story.

Going into story is one of the most
efficient means of abandoning the
resourcefulness of the present moment;
and who wants to do that?

Answering “Why” questions can
rip us violently out of now,
like a button being torn off a heavy
woolen coat on a frozen winter’s morn.

Therefore be wary of those who habitually
ask “why” for it can be a favorite tool of
the energy vampire to steal both your
resourcefulness as well as your power.

What are you doing to habitually harness the
splendor of the present moment?
Which monk, is working with you every week,
one-on-one, either in-person or over the telephone?

Dental Rapture

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #191
from your Buddhism expert

Ah, the rapture of a dental appointment. Come, let
us count the facets of this masochistic jewel.

• There is the subtle annoyance of arriving
early for an 8:15 appointment, only to be kept
waiting until 9 O’clock;
• the fear inspired by the mere sight of the
syringes and drills as well as anticipating their use;
• the discomfort of having a mouth full of
fingers and their tools;
• the pain that occurs when the duration of
the procedure exceeds the potency of the anesthetic;
• and the utter exhaustion that can result
from simply weathering this smorgasbord of
unpleasantness!

What could we do with all these unpleasant
sensations? Bring them into Buddha’s path of Love
and Letting-go.

If we define compassion as “longing to take away
another’s sufferings” then who, I ask you, who do
we spontaneously feel compassion for? Ourselves!
When we feel annoyance, fear, discomfort, pain and
exhaustion do we crave more or less?

Less Please!

When we feel annoyance, fear, discomfort, pain, or
exhaustion, it does not take a Herculean effort to
remember that no one wants to feel this stuff. And
so we can choose to WILL that it be taken away from
everyone; in the most wonderful way. That is why
I’ve made the mental yoga of “Essential Taking” on
page 17 of the “Quick Path to Happy Peace;”
available for free download.

Yes, simply ping pong-ing between “Essential Taking
and “Essential Meditation" is a fine way to deal
with annoyance, fear, discomfort, pain or exhaustion
but could there be a way to kick it up a notch?

Yes there is, and it is as simple as bringing the
annoyance, fear, discomfort, pain, or exhaustion
into the path of the “Sutric Questions.”

Now I’ll be honest with you. This type of mental
gymnastics does require a certain degree of energy
and resourcefulness. What are some of the simple
adjustments you could make to your lifestyle that
could enhance your ambient energy and
resourcefulness?

To increase your mental and physical energy you
could use the “Karmic Dynamo” program that I’m
making available in May. And to experience much
more of the habitual resourcefulness that we all
require to be great, spiritual warriors be sure to
get your hands on the home-study course that reveals
the lost secrets of Breathing Meditation.

Om Mani Padme Hum,
Lama Jigme Gyatso
Tibetan-Buddhist: Monk, Teacher, Healer and Tantrika

P.S. There is no way to prevent each and every
little suffering; Buddha couldn’t, Christ couldn’t
and you cant. But there is something you can do. You
can set aside, just 5 minuets every morning and
every evening to effortlessly meditate in a way
that you never have before. I’ll teach you how to
easily meditate so you can savor more peace, so you
could feel more joy, so you will experience more
resourcefulness. This month is more than two thirds
over, and when it goes it will take with it April’s
special discount on the instructions for the

Use It

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #186
from your Buddhism expert

Could you recall rejoicing at the very sight of
nature? When I glimpsed the sky, this morning, on
the way to the laundry room, the sight of the sky
beautifully lit by the sun’s fiery orb, that had
yet to appear at the horizon, put a smile on my lips
and joy in my heart.

Could you have ever had a brainstorm that filled you
with the enthusiasm of creative energy? While loading
the washing machine today, communication strategies
to prevent energetic vampirism just seemed to come
to me. It was as fun as it was exciting.

Could you remember ever feeling like a million bucks?
No, I don’t mean green and wrinkled! What I meant to
ask is: Have you ever felt a song in your heart? This
morning I felt the urge to sing and dance to the
Beastie Boy’s “Three MCs and One DJ.”

If you’ve been reading these daily tips for any time
at all you could recall that I frequently teach that
neither sorrow, fear nor anger are foes that need to
be crushed, as much as energy that needs to be
harnessed. Like wise, joy too, is an energy to be
harnessed.

But shrewdly harnessing the energy of joy really isn’t
our knee-jerk reaction, is it? Sadly, each of us
instinctively tends to squander that energy through movement, speech or thought.

There is nothing wrong with dancing about, in fact one
of my teachers was quite a big fan of it. However it
can also be good to use that physical energy to help
your partner around the house of even bow to the
Buddha of Compassion, AKA:
• Avalokiteshvara,
• Kuan Yin or
• Chenrezig,
which can really generate a whole bunch of good karma.

This of course brings us to the “motor mouth”
syndrome. When some folks feel great joy they aren’t
sure what to do with themselves. They feel as if they
could burst into a million pieces, so they start
talking AT another, non-stop, until the feelings of
overwhelming joy abate. It is as if they have drunk
too much and are now vomiting. But instead of
purging the contents of their belly into a toilet,
they are vomiting their words upon another.

My friend, have you ever had someone talk AT you for
5, 10 or even 15 minuets straight? It’s exhausting
isn’t it. Whether someone is vomiting their joy or
their sorrow upon you, it is still no fun to be
treated like a human toilet, is it?

If you’re reading these essays with any regularity you
probably possess some spiritual ambition. You most
likely would rather be a great Bodhisattva than a
destructive energy vampire. So then how can we harness
the great energy of joy?

Easy! Make use of the contemplative exercise
Essential Giving.” It can be found on the 25th page
of “Quick Path to Happy Peace;” which is available
for FREE download to all who visit
http://www.lamajigme.com

Yes, you can use this mental yoga to,

“…give great joy and it’s causes to all;”

empowered, of course, by the Six-syllable mantra:
Om Mani Padme Hum. If you have yet to master the
secrets of this mantra then order your copy of the
“Mastering the Mani” audio CD at
http://www.lamajigme.com/Mastering-The-Mani.html

After six or so repetitions of “Essential Giving” I
urge you to then let go by practicing the concise
mental yoga of the “Essential Meditation;” which is
found on page 10 of the same text. After the proper
training, these two techniques could provide you with
the frame work to tread Buddha’s path of Love and
Letting-go.

Of course this type of mental training is only helped
by blissfully centering yourself, twice daily with the
Centering Questions.”

Om Mani Padme Hum,
Lama Jigme Gyatso
Tibetan-Buddhist: Monk, Teacher, Healer and Tantrika

P.S. Registration to receive this month’s audio CD
explaining the “Centering Questions” is picking up
more and more steam each day. It’s awesome to be part
of this group evolution. I feel sorry for the people
who’ve told themselves they can’t order it. There’s
nothing stopping YOU but YOU – and if YOU really want
to receive a copy – you will find a way to make it
happen. 'Tis how the Universe works. Go to

Sufferings Resources pt. 2

Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea # 114
from your Buddhism expert

Suffering’s Resource pt 2

What are some of the ways we could often dissipate, squander and waste suffering’s energy, that has the potential to actually further our progress upon Buddha’s paths of: love, peace, insight and happiness? Catharsis! “Getting something off our chest.” Going into story BEFORE we Harnesses the potential power {that is latent in every suffering} could be as self-defeating as choosing to masturbate before sex!

Tomorrow we’ll explore how to harness our sufferings.

Today, you could find out about receiving personal instruction from a Buddhist Monk over the telephone by going to: http://www.LamaJigme.com
