Everything's Perfect?

.

There is a big fat lie that “Everything is perfect” it’s NOT!

Every year men beat women to death,
every year mother’s kill their own children,
every day the air, the earth and the sea are poisoned,
and every day countless animals suffer needlessly in factory farms.

You’d have to be a myopic as Lois Lane to not see
just how grotesquely imperfect our world is.

So, rather than spinning yarns to protect our self esteem and
our laziness masquerading as spirituality,
let’s actually take the skillful action required
to become the people that we were born to be.

There is no shortage of fools,
even “spiritual” ones.

Many fools are driven by either grandiose illusions that
#1 their “great spiritual development” renders them
immune to cause and effect while
#2 other fools are determined to do the right thing out of FEAR of
karmic retribution.
In fact they’ll go so far as to consider their fear to be a Virtue!

We on the Bodhisattva path,
practice the two Bodhichitta’s of Love and Letting-go.

On one hand, Letting-go frees us from the tyranny of impulse
and love frees us from the potential aloofness of letting-go.

However, on the other hand, Love helps us to do the right thing
and Letting-go helps us to prevent our love from becoming a straight jacket
that smothers or manipulates others.

Come let us quickly, easily and enjoyably
master Buddha’s mental yogas.

The Thursday series of weekly webinars begins in 3 weeks!

Sad Irony

.

It is the idealistic, ground breakers that have formed
the greatest spiritual movements in history.
And then you have their followers…

The greatest saints all had the courage
to notice whether the actions they were taking
were giving them the results they desired.

Ironically, their followers often lacked the courage to do likewise.
This can be seen in every sect of every spiritual tradition.

What are the four categories that they could fall into?
#1 Sweet but stupid,
#2 sweet and intelligent,
#3 evil but stupid as well as
#4 evil and intelligent.

The insecurities of the sweet but stupid
make them easy prey for the evil and clever.
And they find sweet and subtle ways
to undo the good works of the founders.

Come let us truly follow in the footsteps of the great ones
and exercise the courage to notice the results we are getting
AND not getting
from the path we tread and the advisors we heed.

The Thursday series of weekly webinars will only be offered once every year.

May you and yours be
happy and healthy!

Psychic Assault

.

Would it be appropriate
to stride up to a complete stranger at random,
grab his lapels, and loudly demand of him the answer to the question,
“Are you a molester of children?”

Of course not, that type of psychic assault
violently shoves another into a defensive posture,
and defensiveness is a profoundly effective method
of squandering one’s life.

Likewise, it is never appropriate to metaphorically
grab your kind teacher by the robes,
and violently shake him while demanding
the answer to the questions:

• “Were you ordained?”
• “Who trained you?”
• “Where did you take your 3 year retreats?”
for truly they all are merely round about ways of asking:
• “Are you a fraud?”

Do you want to know if any teacher is a fraud?
Why?
Are you dissatisfied with you current rate of spiritual development and
with your spiritual guide?

If not, then your question would be described as “foolish talk,”
the karmic negativity that is destructive both to self and others.

But, IF you ARE dissatisfied with you current rate of spiritual development and
with your current spiritual guide,
AND you enthusiastically hunger for
greater liberation from the tyranny of:
• sorrow,
• anger and
• fear
and earnestly long for greater:
• joy,
• love and
• peace
then there is ONLY one way to know,
to really know, if a new teacher is right for you:

#1 giving the new teacher the benefit of the doubt, suspend judgment,
#2 attend his first, beginner’s level class,
#3 do your homework twice daily, for 7 consecutive days, and
#4 THEN notice your results.

If the results are negative then
your search for your new teacher will have to continue,
BUT if the results are substantially positive,
THEN he’s the teacher for you.

Yes, it’s as simple as that.

And the same applies for others as well.
Just as we would not hand a loaded gun to an enraged fellow,
likewise we are not to willingly enable one who is obviously determined:
#1 not only to commit the karmic negativity of foolish talk but
#2 to cause you to do likewise.

IF someone expresses curiosity about your teacher’s qualifications
THEN ask them,
“are you dissatisfied with you current rate of spiritual development and
with your spiritual guide?”

If not, then do not feed their self-important curiosity.
If however, they are dissatisfied then simply invite them to

#1 giving the benefit of the doubt, suspend judgment,
#2 attend your teacher’s first, beginner’s level class,
#3 do their homework twice daily, for 7 consecutive days, and
#4 THEN notice their results.

Folks, this is the litmus test that separates the men from the boys
for most certainly if one is unwilling to do this
then one does not truly hunger and thirst for spiritual development,
no less full enlightenment.

Do we have the nobility of heart to
forsake the karmic negativity of foolish talk?

Do we have the compassion and courage to no longer indulge the
foolishness and self importance of others?

And do we have the gratitude of heart to
no longer psychically assault our teacher?

Glutted?

.

All the folks who consider themselves to be spiritual
fall into one of two categories.
What are they?

Spiritually speaking:
#1 those who Hunger and Thirst for greater progress upon the path OR
#2 the self satisfied who are glutted on pride and laziness.

Which do you choose to be?

Torturing a Healer

.

Tips on Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea #176
from your Buddhism expert

O.K., kids it’s time for a pop quiz. What is the
quickest way to torture a psychic healer?

It’s a two step answer:
#1 describe your physical or emotional suffering
#2 and then tell the healer that you don’t want
his help!

This, of course, reminds me of a line from the T.V.
show “E.R.” One night in the early 90’s I was
watching an episode and saw George Clooney’s character
tending to a beautiful woman while uttering the phrase,
“…that’s because I have a low threshold for your pain!”.

That phrase humorously describes one of the core
motivations of a spiritual healer… compassion! What
a wonderful play on words! I liked it so much that
I’ve made it a part of my personal repertoire.

How do you feel today? The next time you’re in physical
or emotional pain, and the doctor just can’t help,
arrange an appointment with me for a long-distance
Healing-treatment. Just go to
http://www.lamajigme.com/Healing-Treatments.html

I group the Buddha’s teachings in four categories:
#1 the beginning series,
#2 the intermediate series,
#3 the first advanced series and
#4 the second advanced series.

Although I teach psychic healing, in detail, during
the first advanced series, all one really needs is a
competent understanding of the beginning series’
practice text {sadhana}, “Quick Path to Happy Peace;”
which you can download by going to
http://www.lamajigme.com

Quick Path to Happy Peace” is an excellent
resource for:
• dealing with your own suffering,
• progressing on the spiritual path, and
• healing others…
but only if you are proficient in
the fundamentals of Dharma practice.

Om Mani Padme Hum,
Lama Jigme Gyatso
Tibetan-Buddhist: Monk, Teacher, Healer and Tantrika

P.S. Nothing is more fundamental to
the Dharma I teach, then the practice, comprehension
and contemplation of the mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum.”
All my students agree that I present these secrets
in a manner that is as entertaining as it is
transformative. There are only 4 more days to get

Bliss and Openness pt. 7

Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea # 125
from your Buddhism expert

Bliss and Openness pt. 7

What is this “Contrived” business? That means that once we have completed the 10th or 11th lessons of the Beginning series we actually know how to tame our sufferings to a limited degree as well as harness their energy to further our progress upon Buddha’s path to a certain level.

But here is the catch… the success is finite and it requires great effort. Well that sucks! Hey man, I don’t know about you, but I want to effortlessly achieve limitless success; how about you?

Tomorrow we’ll explore the level of “Spontaneous Mastery.”

Imagine a simple 4 step process in which 1) your awareness spontaneously embraces what you are experiencing in the present moment, 2) you blissfully invoke the blessings of the Buddha of Compassion, 3) an effortless process applies the energy of whatever you feel to the wisdom of letting go and 4) the momentum feeds your love for all others. I call it “Emotional Alchemy.”. To find out more, go to: http://www.LamaJigme.com

Bliss and Openness pt 1

Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea # 119
from your Buddhism expert

Bliss and Openness pt. 1

Like the strong thread that pierces every bead on a mala {a Buddhist or Hindu rosary} likewise meditation is the single category of practices {or mental yogas} that has found it’s way into, at least, one or more sects of almost every religion, practiced around the world. Bliss, or at least the pursuit of it, is arguably the common denominator of every school of meditation.

Tomorrow we’ll explore what it is that could set Buddha’s path apart from all the other spiritual paths.

Meditative Gaze pt. 3

Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea # 118
from your Buddhism expert

Meditative Gaze pt. 3

With the eye lids only half closed, one could focus one’s gaze in the general direction of one’s Nose-tip, Heart-center or the finger-tips of the hands that could be folded in the “prayer gesture” before the heart. When you try that during your next meditation session you could notice what effect it has upon your attention.

Tomorrow we’ll explore the Mahamudra of Bliss and Openness.

Sufferings Resources pt. 2

Meditation and the Spiritual path - idea # 114
from your Buddhism expert

Suffering’s Resource pt 2

What are some of the ways we could often dissipate, squander and waste suffering’s energy, that has the potential to actually further our progress upon Buddha’s paths of: love, peace, insight and happiness? Catharsis! “Getting something off our chest.” Going into story BEFORE we Harnesses the potential power {that is latent in every suffering} could be as self-defeating as choosing to masturbate before sex!

Tomorrow we’ll explore how to harness our sufferings.

Spiritual Hunger?

A great teacher once explained, “…blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness…”. In every sect of every religion there are two types of folks. The minority who actually reap a spiritual benefit and the majority who don’t. What is it that could separate the men from the boys? Spiritual Hunger!

The success of our spiritual journey depends upon our hunger for greater love, peace, insight and happiness being even Stronger than our appetite for pride, convenience and pre-conception.

Pray, my friend, pray that you find a teacher who can help you to further cultivate and apply that blissfully beneficial spiritual hunger.
